WILLIAM RIGHTMIRE DEAD

Last Thursday occurred the death of one of the old inhabitants, Wm. Rightmire. Following is an obituary of his life.

Wm. Rightmire was born September 6, 1834, at Mt. Vernon, Knox County, Ohio, and departed this life November 12, 1914, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eva (James) Graham, aged 80 years, 2 months, and 6 days. He was the eldest son of a family of seven children, all of whom have passed from this life, except one sister who resides in Ohio.

He united with the United Brethren Church early in life. After finishing his education in the Westervile College, he moved to Bureau County, Illinois, where he was united in marriage to Margaret E. Kimmel, August 20, 1863. She passed away from this life June 8, 1884. To this union were born seven children, 4 boys and three girls, who are as follows: Mrs. Martha E. Miller, Powell, Nebr.; Mrs. Ada E. Stradley, Shannon City, Iowa; H.A. Rightmire, Ft. Scott, Kansas; J.W. Rightmire, Ellenwood, Nebr.; Mrs. Eva Graham, Afton, Iowa; A.B. Rightmire, Kersey, Colo.; and V. E. Rightmire, Des Moines, Iowa, all of whom were present at the funeral. There are 30 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at one o'clock at Pleasant Valley Church, conducted by Rev. C.A. Carslon and interment made in the Harmony cemetery at Shannon City. Four sons and two grandsons acted as pall bearers.
