WILLIAM H. MILLER of Afton Dies

Afton, Iowa - Willaim H. Miller, 79, a resident of Union County all his life and a farmer of the Afton area, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. He had been a patient at the hospital since Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Afton with burial in St. Edwards Cemetery west of Afton. Rosary will be said at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Stroud Funeral Home.

Born July 28, 1887, in Union County east of Afton, he lived in that area all of his life. The son of William and Dora Trouth Miller, he was married on April 16, 1913, to Myrtle Riepe who survives. Also surviving are a son, Kenneth, and a daughter Mrs. Carl (Margaret) Vogel, both of Afton; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Howard (Nellie) Shafer and Mrs. Fred (Edna) Land, both of Creston, and Mrs. Henry (Lillie) Weis of Afton; and a brother, Carl (wife Bertha)
Miller of Afton.
