FUNERAL TODAY FOR ROBERT IRA STRADLEY, 81

Funeral services for Robert I. Stradley, 82, of Afton, IA will be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. at the Stroud Funeral Home. Rev. Earl Thorton
will officiate with burial being in Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton.
A memorial fund for the Afton Assembly of God Church, of which Mr. Stradley attended, has been established.
Mr. Stradley passed away at the Crest Haven Nursing Home in Creston at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 26, 1973. He had been a patient there since Oct. 8.
Robert Ira Stradley was born Feb. 28, 1892 west of Shannon City, IA, the son of Marion and Ada (Rightmire)Stradley. On February 20, 1913, he married to Stella Wilson, who passed away on Nov. 14, 1973. He was a retired farmer spending his entire life in Union County, IA, moving into Afton in 1965.
He leaves to mourn his passing four children, Mrs. Zayda Harrison of Marshalltown, IA, Marvin
(wife Dorothy) of Reading, PA., Mrs. Clarence (Vonda) Long of Shannon City, IA, and Mrs. Leonard (Irma) Miller of Lorimor, IA; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Stradley of Centerville, IA; one sister Mrs. Lee (Velma) Downing of Orient. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Lloyd, one granddaughter and 3 sisters.
