This death was not recorded at Taylor county. I did see a newspaper listing for the TCR April 19, 1883 about the death. If you like I could go to the museum and pull it up for additional details. The abstract gave her birth as Jan 23, 1803 in New York. With that info I found Elizabeth (Betsy) with Joel Coykendall living in Buckheart, Fulton County, Illinois in 1850. In 1880, Betsy was living with Cyrus W. Coykendall's family in Benton, Taylor County, Iowa. There she was listed as age 77, born in New York of Connecticut parents.

Land records for Taylor county, show that Cyrus bought land here Oct 2, of 1872, coming from Mc Donough County in Illinois. He sold his land Aug 11, 1885, still a resident of Taylor county when he sold it.

Possibly Joel died in Illinois, and is buried either in Fulton or McDonough counties, and Elizabeth was sent back and buried there.

In 1870 I found Cyrus' family in Walnut Grove, McDonough county, Illinois indexed as Coyandon. Elizabeth and Joel were not with them then.
