Anton Adam
1887-1922From Traer Star-Clipper, Dec 15, 1922
Anton Adam, of south Traer, died at 10:30 Tuesday night after a nine days illness of pneumonia. During the last few days of his illness his condition required the services of two nurses, and two or three outside doctors were called in consultation with the family physician. Mr. Adam was thirty-five years old. He was a native of Bohemia, coming to this country at the age of sixteen. He was married eleven years ago to Miss Agnes Vohaska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Vohaska, living near Elberon. The couple farmed near Clutier for about eight years, moving to Traer a year ago last March. Mr. Adam has no near relatives in this country except a sister, Mrs. John Cecak, living southwest of Dysart. His parents are dead. He was of a quiet nature, but had many friends. He was a member of the Traer band. He was also affiliated with the Z.C.B.J. lodge of Clutier and carried $2,000 insurance in that institution. Besides the wife, who is a sister of Mrs. Joe Kostlan, south of Traer, he leaves two young children - Malvin, ten, and Edward, four.
Funeral services are to be held at 9 a.m. this morning at the home in south Traer, and at 11 o'clock at the Z.C.B.J. hall in Clutier. Burial will be in the National cemetery, Vining. [Posted on Tama County Rootsweb Message Board on Dec 19, 2000, by Steven Stodola]
