SHERRIE L. WEST MCFATRIDGE

Sherrie L. McFatridge, 53, of St. Anne, passed away Friday (Oct. 21, 2011) with her family by her side.

She was born Nov. 7, 1957, in Kankakee, the daughter of Milton and Pauline West. She was a graduate of Eastridge High School and a realtor for Speckman Realty Co. She married Richard McFatridge Jan. 28, 1978, and they had three sons together.

She is survived by her children, Noah and Jen McFatridge, and Joshua McFatridge, all of St. Anne, and Nicholas and Tami McFatridge, of Papineau; her mother, Pauline West, of St. Anne; three sisters, Debbie DelGuidice and Wayne Conn, of Addison, Vicki and Larry Westerhoff, of Kankakee, and Loretta and Tom Patti, of Limestone; two brothers, Gary and Marty West, of Bourbonnais, and Scott West, of Davenport, Iowa. She had five grandchildren who were the light of her life, Abbigail and Landon McFatridge, of Papineau, Charlotte McFatridge, and Chase and Keith Hakala, of St. Anne. Her former husband, Richard McFatridge, of St. Anne, also survives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Milton West.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. One of the things she loved the most was planting flowers with her granddaughter, Abbigail, so they could watch them grow and bloom together. There was a very special person in her life, Bruce Gearhart, of Kankakee. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother whose table was always open to listen and lend a hand and will be sadly missed by all the people whose lives she touched.
