Mrs. Lena Paustian passed away at her home in Dysart Dec. 28, 1916. She was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gloerfield on May 8, 1866 in Scott County, Iowa.

When a girl she came with her parents to Oneida Township in Tama County, where she resided until March 2, 1876, when she was united in marriage to Claus Paustian and they took up their residence on a farm six miles south of Dysart. They moved to Dysart in the spring of 1898 where the husband died on April 5, 1903. Mrs. Paustian remained until the time of her death.
