James Lally, Sr., passed away at his home in Dysart on Nov. 13, 1909, at the age of 82 years. Mr. Lally was born in County Mayo, Ireland in 1827. He came to America at the age of 19 and first settled in La Salle, Ill. From there he went to New Orleans where a sister resided. Lally was married in 1862 at La Salle, and moved to Iowa in 1870. He came to Benton County in 1871. In 1900, the family moved to Dysart. After his wife died, he was cared for by his two sons, James Jr. and Dan.
