MRS. LEVI MOHLER DIED 12/26/22 -- SERVICES THURSDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Levi Mohler, who died Tuesday, December 26, were held from the Rose Hill church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. G.G. Booton, of Manchester, formerly pastor of the Toledo circuit, had charge. A mixed quartet composed of L.K. Giger, Lucy and Esther Giger and Jesse Dixon, with Mrs. L.K. Giger playing the accompaniment, sang four selections: Jesus Savior Pilot Me, Some Day, In the Sweet By and By, and My Jesus I Love Thee. Floyd Blake, O.C. Rider, C.A. Head, James Rayman, Earl Lyon, and Walter Pugh were the casket bearers. The remains were interred in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Amasa and Elmira Amidon, was born September 17, 1853, in Onondaga county, New York, and moved with her parents to Tama county in March 1870. She was an efficient and popular school teacher, finishing her last term after her marriage to Levi Mohler, December 24, 1873. To Mr. and Mrs. Mohler six children were born: Monte Lee, Lulu May, Edward Lynn, Lois Maud, Levi Lloyd and Loren Earl, all of whom survive their mother except Monte Lee, who died in infancy. She is also survived by three brothers: Charles, Willis and Henry; also, eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mohler was stricken with paralysis in September, 1917, and had been entirely helpless since that time. At the time of her death she had attained the age of 69 years, 3 months and 9 days. She was converted when twelve years old, always since having been a faithful and consistent Christian. Her beautiful Christian spirit was manifested throughout her long illness. She was patient, never complaining and always had a smile for her husband, who waited on her so tenderly throughout her long years of suffering.

Those from away who were her to attend the funeral were W.V. Amidon, of Larchwood, a brother of the deceased; his daughter, Mrs. Nellie Quackenbush, of Ames; a daughter and son of the deceased, Mrs. Lulu Earhart, of Marshalltown, and Loren Mohler, of Rochester, Minnesota; Walter Amidon, of Omaha; D.W. Mohler, of New Hampton; Mrs. and Mrs. John Mohler, of Hubbard; Mrs. Mary Masten, of Amo, Indiana.
