TRAER - Louise A. Podhajsky, 80, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at her home in rural Traer after a sudden illness. Funereal services were Saturday, June 21, 2008, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Jerry Blake officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery with graveside services by the American Legion Auxiliary.

Louise Agnes Podhajsky was born July 6, 1927 in rural Chelsea to William and Agnes (Chaloupek) Kolash. She attended country school near Chelsea and then helped her family on the farm.

On Feb. 26, 1952 she married Rudy Podhajsky at Chelsea. Rudy and Louise made their home all their married life on a farm southwest of Traer. He died Feb. 29, 1996.

She was an active member of the Traer community where she and Randy spent countless hours at the Traer Memorial Building working community events. Louise was also a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved her flowers, her chickens and her dog Laddie.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Rudy. She is survived by one brother Richard Kolash of Chelsea.

Oveerton Funeral Home in Traer was in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.
