Frank F. Iezek, 91 of Dysart died Monday, August 31, 2009 at Virginia Gay Annex in Vinton after an extended illness. Services were held September 4 at Zion Lutheran Church by Pastor Radatz. Burial was at the Dysart Cemetery.

Frank Ferdinand Iezek was born December 10, 1917 in rural Chelsea, Iowa, the son of Tom and Mary (Cleppe) Iezek. He attended school in rural Chelsea and then began farming with his father.

On January 4, 1941 he was united in marriage to Gen Wacha at Belle Plaine. They farmed all their married life in Black Hawk and Tama County until their retirement to Dysart in 1981. Frank’s death came on Monday, August 31, 2009 at the Virginia Gay Annex at the age of 91. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and in his spare time enjoyed fishing.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harry; two sisters Bess Kaufman and Florence Landuyt. Frank is survived by his wife Gen of Dysart, by three daughters: Carol (Gene) Smith of Pleasant Hill, Mary (Chuck) Cranston of Dysart, Connie Forbes of Kearney, MO; two sons, Tom (Beulah) Iezek of Voorhies and Mark (Tom) Burger) Iezek of Minneapolis, MN; one sister Lillian Iezek of Belle Plaine; ten grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
