Phyllis L. Harmon, 84, of Eddyville passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Northern Mahaska Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Oskaloosa, Iowa.

She was born December 10, 1924 in Monroe County, Iowa to Minor and Leona Linderman Muilenburg. She married Pete Harmon January 24, 1945 in Monroe County. He died February 18, 1973.

Phyllis and Pete farmed in different states. After his death, she was a custodian at Traer Schools at North Tama from 1973-1985. She moved to Eddyville in 2002. She enjoyed collecting over 200 Teddy Bears.

She is survived by her brother: Bill Muilenburg of West Des Moines; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters: Eva Den Hartog and Bernice Gorsuch and one brother: Paul Muilenburg.

Service: 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2009, Eddyville Funeral Chapel, Eddyville, Iowa. Rev. Lois Williams will be officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetry, Eddyville, Iowa. Arrangements by Eddyville Funeral Chapel.
