Funeral services for Fern E. Finks, 91, of Traer were held Saturday, Oct. 9, 1993 at the Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer, with burial in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer. Mrs. Finks died Thursday, Oct. 7, at Sunrise Hill Care Center.
The Rev. Mark Binder officiated at the service with special music provided by Irene Calderwood and Judy Mason.
Casket bearers were Rick Crawford, Kirk Crawford, Bill Calderwood, Estle Mason, Larry Hassman and Bill Danker. In charge of floral tributes were Mr. and Mr. Gordon Keith and Frances Dinsdale.
Fern E. Finks was born June 11, 1902, at Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Lawrence Homer and Agnes (Knecht) Corley. Fern received her education in a country school near Shelbyville. She was married to Douglas Zumstein who preceded her in death.
On October 25, 1957, Fern was united in marriage to Isaac (Ike) Finks and the couple made their home farming east of Traer. Fern became a resident of Sunrise Hill Care Center in June 1982 and continued to reside there following Ike’s death May 24, 1990.
Fern was a member of the Ripley United Church of Christ, church circle and the Traer Garden Club
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ike; and a twin sister, Forrest.
Surviving are two sons, Donald Zumstein of Holiday, FL, and Louis of Madison, TN; two daughters, Marian Kulak of Melbourne, Ark., and Gertrude Luttman of Ooltewah, TN; two brothers, Clarence Corley of San Marcos, CA, and Kenneth Corley of Escondido, CA; two sisters, Ethel Kimmell of Shelbyville, IL, and Pearl Richardson of Adrian, MI, and a niece, Betty Crawford of Dysart.
