EMIL LACINA

Emil J. Lacina, 94, 102 West Grace Street, Toledo, died in Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center at 8:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 1993, where he had been a patient since Oct. 16. Death was attributed to cardiac arrest and renal failure.

Funeral services held at 10:30 Tuesday morning from the Chapel of Manson-Hand Funeral Home, Tama, with Rev. Lowell E. Hoyle, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Toledo, officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo.

Visitation at the Mason-Hand Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. Monday.

A memorial fund is being established.

Born April 30, 1899, in Tama, Emil J. was the son of John and Minnie Fiedler Lacina. He received his education in the rural schools of Tama county and grew to manhood in the area of his birth.

On Jan. 15, 1929 in Marshalltown, he married Miss Vivian R. Norris of Toledo. The couple always resided in Toledo. Mr. Lacina was employed on the section of the Milwaukee Road, until his retirement in 1965.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance Railway Employees.

Surviving are three children, L. John and Dixie L. Lacina, Toledo and Deane Mae (Mrs. Roger) Whaley, Linwood, Wash., five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and three sisters, Minnie (Mrs. Verne) Pagel, Tama, Mildred (Mrs. Arthur) Petersen, Melbourne, Mrs. Julia Wise, Toledo and several more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife on June 30, 1965, and two sisters, Anna McClure and Alda Finsen, in addition to his parents.
