Talbert Lathrop Hill
Tab died August 22, 1973 in Tama after falling ill on a trip to Grand Junction CO. His sons, Ed & Gene drove out to bring him & Gladys home.
Tab was born Jan 3, 1904 to Sarah Hermia Hill & Albert W. Meeker. He was adopted by his maternal grandparents, Talbert White Hill & Margaret Josephine Swick shortly after his mother died in 1906.
He attended Tama High School graduating in 1924. He married Gladys Smith Dec 16, 1925 in Clinton Iowa.
He is survived by 5 children: Edgar Hill, Allan Hill, Gene Hill, Eva Lea (Richard) Jacobsen & Herbert Hill.
Funeral was held at the Harrison Funeral Home, Tama, Iowa on Saturday, August 25, 1973 at 1:30 pm.
Clergywoman was Rev Nancy J Nichols, Pastor of United Methodist Church, Melbourne, IA.
Music was by Mrs John Kaloupek, organist & Donna Baker, vocalist. Songs were “How Great Thou Art” and “Precious Lord Take My Hand.”
In Charge of Flowers were granddaughters, Vicki Chase and Sue Randall.
Interment was at Haven Cemetery, rural Tama, IA.
Pallbearers were his grandsons: Talbert Hill, Douglas Hill, Robert Hill, Marty Jacobson, Michael Hill & Steve Hill.
