Tama News Herald - Gladys L HIll, 80, died Wednesday Feb 15, 1984 at the Marshalltown Area Community Hospital where she had been admitted earlier in the day. She had been living at the Sunny Hill Care Center, Tama.
She was born March 19, 1903 to Edgar & Stella Flint Smith near Haven and attended rural schools. She graduated from the Tama High School with the class of 1924 and attended Leander Clarke College at Toledo.
She was married to Talbert Hill at Clinton on December 16, 1925 and they lived in the Tama and Chelsea areas.
She was a memeber of the Chelsea and Tama United Methodist Churches, the United Methodist Women, a member of the Tama and Chelsea American Legion Auxillaries and the DAR.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1973. Also preceding her were a granddaughter and a sister, Eula Horrigan.
Survivors include four sons, Edgar of Chelsea; Allan of Hot Springs, SD; Gene of Tama and Herbert of Coralville: a daughter, Eva Lea (Richard) Jacobsen of Tustin CA; a sister, Vira (Harry)Chadek of Oak Park IL; 19 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren.
Grandchildren: Vicki & Sue Hill of Chelsea; Tab, Doug, Mary, Bob, Jean & Pete Hill of Tama; Marty, Bobby & Christine of Tustin; Tim, Drew & sister of Coralville; Mike, Pat, Amy, Joel & Steve of Hot Springs.
