Marilyn Jean Hill, 80, Chelsea, died Feb. 18, 2008, at Carrington Place in Toledo of a short illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 25, at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Haven Cemetery, Haven. Honorary Pallbearers were Jeff Chase, Jeremy Chase and Adam Crowley. Organist was Karen Johnson and vocalist was Rev. Charles Johnson.
She was born Dec. 8, 1927, the daughter of Clarence A. and Frances (Kent) Casey. She received her education at the Iowa State Teacher's College (UNI) in Cedar Falls. On July 6, 1948 she married Edgar Hill. They lived on a farm south of Chelsea and in Chelsea since 1971. She was a teacher and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Chelsea United Methodist Church and was active in all the church activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar, June 5, 2006; daughter, Mary Jean; sister, Dorothy; and a brother, Donald.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki (Dick) Chase, Cedar Rapids and Sue (Jim) Crowley, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; three grandchildren, Jeff Chase, Danville, Jeremy Chase, Cedar Rapids and Adam Crowley, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; five great grandchildren, Hayley, Rebecca, Gabrielle, Kelsey and Lukas; sister, Donna (John) Weaver, Chelsea.*
