Louise Ann Simpson, age 59, of Toledo, died on May 2, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines due to a lengthy illness. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 1:30 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Mary Schnepf officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2007 from 5-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Louise Ann Simpson was born on June 26, 1947, in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle Jerome and Arlene H. (Goodlow) Goodwin.
She graduated from BGM High School.
On January 17, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry Simpson in Malcom, Iowa. Louise formerly was employed by the Chevy Dealership in Toledo and by Dr. Dennis Mallory’s medical practice. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, cooking, camping, and playing cards and loved spending time with her dogs. She also enjoyed canning produce from her garden, especially salsa.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and one son, Jeremy J. in infancy.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Simpson of Toledo; one son, Eugene “Bud” (Michele) Simpson of Altoona; one daughter, Tina Simpson (Pat Robinson) of Altoona; one sister, Linda (John) Albers of Russellville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Hailey, Cody, Melanie, and Lauren Simpson; her step-mother, Bea Goodwin of Grinnell; two nieces, Carolyn Lathrop and Jolene Geeo; and her beloved dog, Missy.
A memorial fund has been established.
