OBITUARY

CYNTHIA WELLS-STANSBERY

Cynthia Wells-Stansbery, 44 of Traer, died Thursday, May 13, 1999 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, in Iowa City, of cancer.

Funeral services were held Monday morning, May 17, 1999, at the United Methodist Church in Traer officiated by the Rev. Marshall Monthei. Burial was in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

Music for the service was provided by Joleeen Edwards, organist and the Methodist Church choir. Casket bearers were Denny Berger, Jason Himschoot, Lance Howe, Mike Rickard, Tom Wicks and Mark Keefer.

Floral tributes were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Jared Bauch, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Donald and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Pinkston.

Cynthia Marie Wells-Stansbery was born Sept. 15, 1954, at Oelwein, IA, the daughter of David and Sylvia (Sanderson) Wells. She lived with her family on a farm near Randalia and received her education at West Union School in Maynard, graduating in the Class of 1973. Cynthia continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with a degree in Accounting and Economics. She was a licensed Private Investigator and a Certified Public Accountant.

On Oct. 28, 1978, Cynthia was united in marriage to Donald Stansbery at the home of her parents on the family farm. Cynthia and Don made their home in the Tama-Toledo area before moving to Traer in 1983.

The couple opened their own business where she was the managing partner of Stansbery & Co., CPAs.

Cynthia was active in the United Methodist Church and Chair of the Administrative Council; President of the Music Club at North Tama School and served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Traer Chamber of Commerce. She also served on the Taylor Park Board; was Chair of the Park Christmas Lighting and a member of the Vietnam War Memorial Committee.

In all her accomplishments her most important one was being mom to Isaiah and Eli. She made a point to be at home when her boys arrived from school. She loved planning family trips, painting and sewing for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Traer; her sons, Isaiah and Eli at home; here parents, David and Sylvia Wells of Traer; a brother William Wells of Polk City, IA and a sister Gloria Lee of Panama City, FL.
