OBITUARY

LUCILLE R. URHAMMER

Lucille R. Urhammer, 79, formerly of the Traer area, died Friday, April 21, 2000. after a brief battle with cancer. Services for Lucille were held at the New Richmond United Methodist Church Tuesday, April 25, 2000, with burial at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Turtle Lake, Wis.

Lucille was born March 4, 1921, to John M. and Rose (Trittan) Krug of Dysart. She married Edward E. Urhammer Nov. 24, 1937, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, IA. They farmed in the Buckingham community until Feb. 1954, when they bought a farm and moved to Turtle Lake, Wis. When Ed retired from farming in 1963 they moved to New New Richmond, Wis.

Lucille worked for a time at the Holy Family Hospital. She then worked at the New Richmond West Elementary School kitchen, where she retired in 1988 after 22 years of service.

Lucille was an active member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church serving as chairman of Rebecca Circle for many years. She was an active member of Peace Corps for the church and an active member of the New Richmond Community Fare Share.

At home she enjoyed attending her many flowers both indoors and out and spent many hours sewing projects for the church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Edward in 1975; her parents; her brothers, Otto, Walter, John and Roy and a grandson, Jeffrey Urhammer. She is survived by five children; Dolores and Ervin Jeska of Coon Rapids, Minn., Leroy and Adele Urhammer of Houlton, Wis., Maybelle and Wayne Hall of New Richmond, Wis., Edward and Janet Urhammer of Isanti, Minn.. and Ronald and Karen Mackesey of River Falls, Wis.; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
