OBITUARY

PETER TAYLOR

Funeral services for Peter D. Taylor, 83, of Dysart were held Friday, March 24, 1995 at the United Methodist Church in Dysart with burial in the Dysart Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor died Tuesday, March 21, 1995 at Ravenwood Care Center in Waterloo, Iowa following a long illness.

The Rev. John Oren officiated at the service. Carol Lorenzen served as organist.

Casket bearers were Daryl Strohbehn, Michael Strohbehn, Donald Taylor, Lyle Taylor, Marvin Taylor and Robert Forbes. Flowers were tended to by Mr. and Mrs. Dick Dinsdale and Ruth Taylor.

Peter D. Taylor was born Dec. 7, 1911, in Geneseo Township near Dysart, the son of William and Mary (Mueller) Taylor. He attended country school for a time and later graduated from Geneseo High School in the Class of 1931.

He then started farming with his brother, Albert, in Geneseo Township.

On Dec. 31, 1931, he was united in marriage to Frances Strohbehn and the couple farmed near Dysart until moving to a farm near Reinbeck in 1934.

In 1940 they returned to the Geneseo area where they made their home until Sept. 1972, when they retired to Dysart.
Pete became a resident of Ravenwood Care Center in Waterloo following Frances' death on Jan 25, 1993.

In free moments, Pete enjoyed spending time fishing, playing cards and sports. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Frances; six brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are three sons, Peter of El Salvador, Robert of Dumas, TX, and Richard of Waterloo; one sister, Elsie Taylor of La Porte City and seven grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.
