OBITUARY
Frances L. Taylor was born December 23, 1914, in Eagle Township, Black Hawk County, daughter of Henry and Sadie (Newell) Strohbehn. Frances received her education in a country school in Eagle Township and attended Geneseo High School, graduating in the class of 1931.
On December 31, 1931, she was united in marriage to Peter Dent Taylor at the home of her parents.
Frances and Pete made their home farming near Dysart until moving to the Reinbeck area, where they farmed for six years. They returned to farming in Geneseo Township until their retirement to 610 Fairlane St. in Dysart in the early 1970's.
Frances' death came on Monday, January 25, 1993, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo at the age of 78 years, following a lengthy illness.
She was a member of the Dysart United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and was an active member of the Iowa Federated Garden Club, of which she held office of secretary for many years.
Frances enjoyed spending many hours working with her flowers and showed her flowers at exhibits and judged flower shows throughout the state of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lois; and one brother H. Dean.
She is survived by her husband, Peter of Dysart; three sons, Peter Dean of El Salvador, South America, Richard of Waterloo and Robert of Dumas, TX; one brother, Ralph Strohbehn of Waterloo; one sister, Myrtle Hayward of Dysart; and seven grandchildren.
