OBITUARY

Beulah E. Taylor was born Nov. 16, 1893, at La Valle, Wisc., daughter of Archie and Ellen [Klett] Smith. Beulah lived in Traer a short time when her father was station agent for the North Western Railroad.

After leaving Traer, Beulah graduated from Baraboo High School and Baraboo Business College at Baraboo, Wisc. On Sept. 7, 1918, Beulah married Harry Taylor at Baraboo and they made their home in Traer all of their married life.

Beulah was an active member of the community and served as an officer in many organizations. Beulah's accomplishments included being Iowa Alpha Club Woman of the Year In 1959; and Mother of the year in 1962, selected by the American Legion Auxiliary. Beulah was also Past President of the Legion Auxiliary and the Alpha Club, and was involved with the North Tama County Red Cross for many years.

Her activities also involved the Ripley United Church of Christ of which she was a member and president of many of the church organizations and taught Sunday School.

After Harry's death on April 15, 1976, Beulah continued to make her home in Traer and in recent months had been residing at her apartment at 508 S. Main and the Sunrise Hill Care Center at Traer where she died Monday, March 8, 1982, at the age of 88 years.

Beulah is survived by her son William Taylor and his wife Donna of Morgantown W. V., and their children Becky, Wendy, Bruce and Robin.
