OBITUARY

Lynn Logan Powell was born on the family farm In Tama County on August 13, 1906, son of James Garfield and Sarah [Logan] Powell. He received his education at Traer High School, graduating in the Class of 1924.

On April 25, 1934, Lynn married Elsie Morrow in Illinois. They made their home In Keota, Iowa, where they owned and operated a creamery. In 1939, Lynn and Elsie returned to farm in the Traer area for many years until their retirement to their home located at 507 Linn Street.

In recent months Lynn's health had failed and he was a patient at Covenant Medical Center at Waterloo. His death came on Wednesday, November 2, 1988, at the age of 82 years.

Lynn was a member of the RIpley United Church of Christ. He Is survived by his wife Elsie of Traer; one son James of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter Mrs. Robert [Barbara] Sherman of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one brother Corliss Powell of Reno, Nevada; one sister Mrs. Larry [Gladys] Allison of Fountain Hills, Arizona, and one grandchIld.
