OBITUARY

Allan E. Neymeyer was born August 15, 1923 at Parkersburg, IA; the son of Henry and Jennie (Luchtenburg) Neymeyer. He received his education at Austinville, IA and later Aplington, IA where he graduated in 1940.

After helping his father for a short period at the Kramer garage in Austinville, he secured employment at the Herman Kramer garage in Aplington and ltler became employed al John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo.

In June of 1944 he married Janice Van Heiden and they made their home in Parkersburg where he sold Raleigh products door to door and he also managed the Farm Mech. corporatlion in Parkersburg. In the late 40's he owned and operated the Standard station in Parkersburg. In 1952 the family moved to Traer, IA, where Allan owned and managed the Coast to Coast Hardware store until the late 1960's when he sold the store and began operating a direct sales of hardware to stores and lumber yards in Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois.

In August or 1957 his wife Janice was accidentally killed in a gas water explosion at their home in Traer.

On May 24, 1975 he married Kathryn Ocheltree and they made their home in Dysart where he continued to operate his business until he retired in 1983.

His death came at Covenant Medical Cenler in Waterloo on Wed., June 11, 1997 at the age of 73 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice, and 2 brothers; Lyle and Jacob.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn, three sons; Dennis and Dr. Douglas Neymeyer both of Seattle, WA, and Dr. Gary Neymeyer of Joplin, MO., 1 daughter Janet (Wolfgang) Jesch of Vienna, Austria, 1 step son; Jim Ocheltree of Dysart, 2 step daughters; Vickie (Larry) Holst of Dysart and Gloria (John) Albert of Indianapolis, IN, 1 brother Dr. Calvin 'Whitey" Neymeyer of Clinton, 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 3 step great- grandchildren.

FollowIng the service family and friends are invited to attend the luncheon at the Dysart American Legion.
