OBITUARY

Allen Kriz

Funeral services for Allen A. Kriz, 78, of Traer, were held, Monday, Feb. 17, at 10:30 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Traer with the Rev. Peter Swiggum officiating. Burial was in West Union Cemetery, Traer. He died a Covenant Medical Center St. Francis on Friday, Feb. 14.

Organist for the service was Mrs. Wesley Tomlinson and vocaliat was Ferd Kvidera. Casket bearers were Jeffery Kriz, Michael Kriz, Craig Earley, Kenny Bradley, Davie McIntyre and Richard Martin. On the flower committee were Mrs. Richard Martin and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crawford.

Bom at Clutier, Iowa, on February 28, 1907, Allen Kriz was the son of Joseph and Katherina (Novotny) Kriz. He received his education in Clutier country schools.

On May 23,1930, Allen was married to Marion Eckhardt at Milwaukee, Wis. The couple lived a short time at Milwaukee, then lived all the rest of their married life in Traer, where Allen worked as a farm hand, and aIso at the Farmers Elevator for many years, until retirement. He continued to make his home in Traer after Marion's death on July 4, 1982, and for several years had been a resident of Sunrise Hill Care Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, eight brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his son, Max, of Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Pete (Betty) Barge and Mrs. Elmer (Peggy) Bradley, both of Traer; as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchUdren.
