John T. Hilbert

John T. Hilbert, 89, of Sun City, Ariz., and formerly of Traer, died Sunday, June 21, 1998 in Sun City.

He was born November 1908, a son of Ferdinand and Marguerite Hilbert.

Mr. Hilbert was graduate of Traer High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, where he was a member of the boxing and swimming teams.

John farmed north of Traer from 1929 until his retirement in 1973.

In free moments he enjoyed Duplicate Bridge and fashioning jewelry. His number one passion was supporting the Democratic Party.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtie of Sun City; one son, John Alan Hilbert; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
