Ernest A. Herink, 64, of Clutier, died Sunday, September 2, of cancer at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo; survivors include his wife, Margaret; three sons, Craig of Louisville, Ky., Kent of Des Moines and Kevin of Chicago, and Cindy Konrardy and Christine Mohrfeld, both of Cedar Rapids; seven grandsons; a brother, LaVerne of College Park, Md,; and a sister, Phyllis Magnussen of Traer; he was preceded in death by his parents; he served with the U.S. Military in Europe; he and his wife farmed in the Clutier-Traer area and he was district director of Iowa Farm Bureau in 1969 and 1970; services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, rural Clutier, with burial in the church cemetery; friends may call at the Mason-Hand Funeral Home, Tama, where there will be a rosary at 4:30 and Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., both today; memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and North Tama County Scholarship Fund.
