Obituary

Earl O. Hansen was born December 16, 1906 in rural Clutier, Iowa; the son of Otto and Amanda (Steffen) Hansen. He attended rural school near Clutier and then moved with his family to Traer. Earl graduated from Traer High School in the Class of 1925. He began farming with his father on February 25, 1932 he was united in marriage to Gleneva Wood at the home of her parents near Traer. Earl and Gleneva made their home farming north of Traer for three year and then for seven years west of town. They then moved to the family farm near Clutier where they lived until moving into Traer in 1967. Earl’s health has failed for the past two years and in August of this year moved to Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. Earl’s death came at the care center on Thursday evening, September 28, 1995 at the age of 88 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Tama County Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Mathern. He is survived by his wife Gleneva of Traer.
