John W. Reuman, 75, longtime Traer businessman, died at his home Thursday morning, May 25, 1995, of heart failure. Services for him were held Saturday, May 27 at Ripley United Church of Christ, Traer, with burial at Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

The Rev. Mark Binder officiated at the service, and Judy Mason served as organist. Casket bearers were Gary Lynk, Dick Young, Joe Boll, Ron Angel, Delbert Boldt and Don Schellhase. Honorary casket bearers were Roger Duello, Robert Ralls and Jim Ralls. Tending to the floral tributes were Rex and Phyllis McKee and Dr. Robert and Betty Ketter.

John W. Reuman was born March 17, 1920 at the home of his parents, Johannes and Anetta (Anderson) Reuman northwest of Traer. He attended school in Traer and graduated from Traer High School with the Class of 1938.

On June 18, 1941, John was united in marriage to Myrna Justice at Traer, where they made their home.

In June of 1942, John enetered the US Army and he served his country during World War II until his discharge in January of 1946. John began working in the men's clothing store in Traer in the fall of 1941, and he later became a partner in McCutcheon and Reuman. He retired from Reuman's Clothing in the middle 1980s, but continued to work at the store until the end of April this year.

John was an active member of the Ripley United Church of Christ, where he had served on various boards and committees. He was a longtime member of Hesperia Lodge #340, A.F.&A.M. of Traer, had served as Master of the Lodge, and served as its treasurer for many years. He had also served as president of the Traer Chamber of Commerce.

John was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Reginald in 1989; a brother and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Myrna of Traer, one son and his wife, Mike and Joan Reuman of Traere; a daughter-in-law, Mary Reuman of Traer, and five grandchildren; Renee Meth, Julie, Denise, Kip and Jay Reuman
