OBITUARY

A Funeral Mass for Nancy Yvonne Pusteoska, 52, of Traer, was held Monday morning, May 18, 1998, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer with burial in the church cemetery. She died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, following an accident which occurred at her home the previous day.

The funeral service was officiated by Father John Tilp. Organist was Catherine McLean and Mark Keefer was vocalist.

Casket bearers were Dennis Trimble, Vernon Zmolek, Chuck Buresh, Rod Hulme, Jay Kopriva, Ryan Neidick and Jeff Cizek. Floral tributes were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. John Troupe and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Schmitt. Mass cards were handled by Mildred Benda and Marilyn Weil.

Nancy Yvonne Pusteoska was born May 20, 1945, a daughter of Herb and Dorothy (Irving) Root of Castle Rock, Wash. She graduated from Castle Rock High School in the Class of 1963. Nancy then entered the Air Force where she met Ernie Pusteoska at Offut Air Force Base in Omaha, Neb.

On July 8, 1965, Nancy and Ernie were married at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer. The couple made their home in Traer their entire married lives.

In January of 1971, Ernie and Nancy started Ernie's Plumbing Heating and Air Conditiioning. They later owned and operated the Traer Maid-Rite from 1992-1995. Nancy was on the Traer Development Corporation Board and was instrumental in bringing Traer Manufacturing to the Traer community.

She also served on the Traer City Council for eight years and was a Past President of the Traer Chamber of Commerce.

Nancy was active in her church and served on the St. Paul CCD Board and Rosary Society. She also taught CCD classes and was a member of trhe Traer American Legion and currently was serving as President of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Nancy obtained her CNA and did volunteer and part-time work for Sunrise Hill Care Center.

Nancy enjoyed being with her family and friends, working in her yard, baking and helping others in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie in 1995; and a brother, Tom.

Surviving are three children, Doug and his wife, Kylee of Traer, Pam of Hilton Head, SC and Lisa of Traer; two sisters, Pat Turner of Castle Rock, Wash. and Judy Ribelin of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two brothers, Les Root of Florida and brad Root of Grand Island, Nebraska.
