OBITUARY

Ernest James Pusteoska was born Sept. 16, 1941 at Belle Plaine, IA; the son of Leo and Agnes (Novakk) Pusteoska. Ernie attended schools in Buckingham and Dike and later graduated from Traer High School in 1959.

He then became employed by Garvey Plumbing and Heating, Krause Construction and Karr Feed and Fertilizer. In Feb. of 1963 he entered the Air Force and due to his mother's illness he received an Honorable Discharge in Nov. of 1964. He then became employed by Quality Plumbing and Heating and then Young Plumbing and Heating in Waterloo. He later came home to manage the plumbing and heating at Whannel's Hardware.

On July 8, 1965 he married Nancy Root at St. Paul Catholic Church, Traer and they made their home on Woodlawn Ave. and raised three children: Lisa, Pam and Doug. In Jan. of 1971 he started his own plumbing and heating business at his home.

In March of 1992 he was diagnosed with cancer and after several surgeries he had to give up his work and was then cared for in his home where his death came on Sat. Jan 7, 1995 at the age of 53 years.

Ernie most loved his family, work and friends. He golfed, bowled, played softball and cheered for the Hawkeyes. He was a member of the Kubik Finch American Legion, St. Paul's Church, Knights of Columbus, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Club and a Silver Hawk.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; one son, Doug of Traer; two daughters, Pamela of Hilton Head, SC and Lisa of Duluth, MN; two sisters and their husbands; Delores and Don Kroeger of Mesquite, NV and Susan and Larry Nachazel of Traer and several nieces and nephews.
