OBITUARY

Milo Ludwig Podhajskyt was born in Tama County on July 29, 1909, the son of James G. and Mary (Nachazel) Podhajsky. Milo received his education at Perry No. 4 and then began farming.

On October 22, 1935 Milo married Libbie Novotny at Clutier, Iowa and they farmed and raised cattle on their farm near Traer. In fall of 1967 Milo and Libbie moved to make their home in Traer. Milo continued to make daily trips to the farm and continued to involve himself in the operation.

In free moments Milo enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing and also was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the K.D. Lodge.

Following Libbie's death on Nov. 7, 1968 Milo continued to live in Traer.

In January of 1971 Milo married Libbie Pecenka and they had been residing at Sunrise Hill Care Center for a time when Libbie's death came on Dec. 31, 1999. Milo then returned to his home on Walnut Street and thru the use of his golf cart enjoyed trips to the local farmers market and church.

Recently failing health forced Milo to return to Sunrise Hill Care Center where his death came on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at the age of 92 years. Milo was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers, and one grandson. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Joan and Jerry Briscoe of Arvada, CO, three sons, Don and his wife, LuMae of Traer, Dale and his wife, Jan of Cumming, Iowa and Dean of Phoenix, AZ as well as nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchidren.

Following the committal services family and friends are invited to the Traer Memorial Building for a time of food and followship.
