OBITUARY

Lois J. Philp was born February 24, 1943 at Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Cleo and Evelyn (Kosnar) Noe. Lois received her education from Hudson graduating with the class of 1961. She then began working at the Farmers Savings Bank in Traer.

On July 26, 1967 she was united in marriage to Tony Philp at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. Lois and Tony made their home in Traer area all their married life where Lois continued her employment at the Farmers Savings Bank with over 30 years of service with a 10-year leave of absence to raise her family.

In free moments Lois enjoyed traveling, shopping and never missed a change to be with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds.

In November of 2000 she was diagnosed with ALS and retired from the bank in October of 2001. Lois's death came on Wednesday, December 25, 2002 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo at the age of 59 years. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Floyd and Sidney. She is survived by her husband, Tony, two daughters, Lori Thomas and husband, Terry of Prior Lake, MN and Janet Dostal and husband Kevin of Palo, IA; her mother Evelyn Noe of Traer; one sister, Irene Moran of Marshalltown and three grandchildren, Bryant Dostal, Sandon and Isabel Huynh.

Following the committal service, family and friends are invited to a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.
