OBITUARY

Funeral services for Bethel McCrary, 75, of Traer were held Wednesday morning, Jan. 19, 2000 at Overton Family Funeral Home in Traer with the Rev. Rick Vesely officiating. Burial was in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

Mrs. McCrary died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center in Traer following a short illness.

Bethel Mae McCrary was born April 3, 1924, south of Traer, the daughter of William and Maggie (Drinovsky) Kostlan. She received her education at Perry #5 (Stormy Point) and later graduated from Traer High School with the Class of 1941.

On Jan. 1, 1943, Bethel was united in marriage to George McCrary at Kirksville, MO. The couple made their home in Reinbeck and in addition to caring for her family, Bethel worked at the Ben Franklin store in Reinbeck.

In free moments she enjoyed her flower garden, going fishing with George, playing Bingo and going to the casino on occasion.

Following George's death Jan. 22, 1980, she continued to make her home in Reinbeck. In July 1997 Bethel moved to Traer. In recent weeks Bethel's health failed and she became a resident of Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George.

Bethel is survived by her son Mark and his wife, Joleen of Traer; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister Phyllis Pecenka of Traer.

Overton Family Funeral Homes-Traer was in charge of arrangements.
