OBITUARY

Funeral services for Tyler P. McNeal, 23, of Iowa City, formerly of Traer, will be held Friday, Dec. 3, at 1 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Iowa City, with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Tyler died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1993, of complications from a bone marrow transplant at the University of Iowa Hospitals.

Friends may call Thursday, Dec. 2, from 3 to 8 pm at the Donohue-Lensing Funeral Home, and on Friday from 12 pm until service time at the church.

Tyler was born March 2, 1970, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Duane and Betty (Podhajsky) McNeal of Traer. He attended North Tama Schools and in high school particularly enjoyed athletics, lettering in golf, football and basketball.

During his high school years, Tyler became ill with cancer, and he consequently finished his high school education in Iowa City, graduating from City High School there in 1990. He was a student at the Universsity of Iowa at present. He was a member of I Club, where he was a Bronze Hawk.

Tyler's interests included the Hawkeyes, his family and nature.

Casket bearers for the Friday service will be Tracy Deke, Tyler Deke, Matt Gibson, Matt Rybardzyk, Matt Hoskins, Dave Lewis and Chris Allen.

Tyler was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his parents, Duane and Betty McNeal of Traer; two sisters, Mrs. John (Doreen) Loughran of Iowa City, and Mrs. Tim (Heather) Doherty of Iowa City; a brother, Dr. Kim McNeal of Tulsa, Okla., and a special friend, Kim Keller of Iowa City.

A memorial fund has been established.
