OBITUARY

Funeral services for Rose H. Mask, 91, of Traer and formerly of Dysart, were held Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Dysart United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Bogue officiating. Burial was in the Dysart Cemetery.

She died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center in Traer.

Rose Mask was born May 21, 1909 in Geneseo Township, Tama County, the daughter of Henry and Rosa (Kick) Peters. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1927. Rose then attended Pitzie's School of Beauty in Cedar Falls and worked as a beautician in Ackley.

She married Ernest D. Mask Nov. 14, 1939, and the couple farmed for a time in Geneseo Township before moving to a farm north of Dysart. Following retirement they moved to Dysart where Rose continued to live following Ernest's death March 15, 1976.

In 1990 Rose moved to Traer and in 1992 she became a resident of Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, four brothers, Ed, Albert, Bill and Henry and five sisters, Esther, Lulu, Anna, Mary and Amanda.

Surviving are one son, Dale and Dorothy "Dee" Mask of Lenexa, KS; one daughter, Norma and Monte Crabb of Arlington, TX and two grandchildren.
