OBITUARY

Funeral services for Pauline Kathryn Anna Lewman, 79, of Dysart are scheduled to be held Thursday, June 1, 2000, 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Dysart officiated by the Rev. Ron Blix. Burial will take place in the Dysart Cemetery.

Mrs. Lewman died at her home in Dysart on Saturday, May 27, 2000, of a sudden illness.

Casket bearers are Rich Krafka, Joe Coffey, Ron Charmichael, Rex Raub, Dennis Wieben and Howard Pippert. Honorary bearers include Howard Taylor, Robert Degner, Chuck Kennicott, Warren Sawyer, Terry Hadachek, Leo Thiele and Jay Aschenbrenner.

Music will be provided by Reda Charmichael, organist and Paul Lindeman, vocalist.

Floral arrangements will be tended to by Helen Wieben, Mardene Wilson, Connie Coffey, Evelyn Nelson, Maxine Wilson, Janet Sawyer and Lynn McAndrews.

Pauline Kathryn Anna Lewman was born in Dysart, IA, April 4, 1921, a daughter of Wesley and Ells (Schmidt) Lindeman. She graduated from Dysart High School and Iowa State Teachers College and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary education.

She taught school in Morency, Ariz., and was a social worker in Los Angeles, where she met Wilton Lewman. They were married June 26, 1949, in Mason City, IA. Her close friend Alvera married Wilton's twin brother, Walton.

Following their marriage, Pauline and Wilton moved to Nevada, IA, where Pauline taught school and Wilton attended Iowa State University.

They returned to the family farm west of Dysart where their son, Jim, now resides, making it a Century Farm.

She was a life-long member of the Dysart E.U.B. Church, now Trinity United Methodist.

After retirement, she and Wilton traveled extensively. She was an avid bridge player, football and basketball fan and gardener. Her floral arrangements were well known in the community and church. Her "Grandma Corsage" was passed to 47 new grandmothers in the area.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Wilton, on Oct. 18, 1996.

Pauline is survived by one son, Jim of Dysart; one daughter, Peg and her husband, Dave Upmeyer; and two granddaughters, all of Grosse Point, Mich.

Overton Family Funeral Homes-Dysart was in charge of arrangments.
