OBITUARY

Betty Jean Ketter was born at Mineral Point, Wisconsin, June 1, 1936, the daughter of Harvey and Ethel (Howard) Clauer. Betty graduated from Mineral Point High School and then attended the University of Wisconsin for two years.

On June 9, 1956 Betty married Robert C. Ketter at Madison, Wisconsin. Betty and Robert moved to Ames, IA where Robert was a student at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation they moved to Wisconsin to work before moving to Traer in 1964. Betty was employed at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer before entering Marshalltown Community College Nursing Program in 1984 to 1986. Betty received her associates degree in nursing and became employed at the Reinbeck Care Center.

Betty loved her pets and enjoyed pet therapy in sharing her cats with care center residents. Betty also enjoyed traveling and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Betty’s death came on Sunday, June 11, 1995 at the age of 59 years. Betty’s last gift of caring was to be a participant in the organ donor program.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a son Mark and a daughter Susan and one brother. Betty is survived by her husband Robert of Traer, two sons; Karl and his wife Gloria of Waterloo and Kurt of Traer, one daughter Katherine of Waterloo, and one grand-daughter Kari.
