Irma Johnsen

Funeral services for Irma Lucille Johnsen 73 of Ringsted formerly of Buckingham, were held Saturday Sept. 26 at Overton Funeral Home in Traer with burial at Buckingham Cemetery rural Traer. She died at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville of cancer Wednesday Sept. 23, 1992.

Officiating at the service was the Rev. Larry Tanton.

Irma Lucille Johnsen was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Reinbeck the daughter of Theodore and Marie (Thiessen) Brandt. She received her education at Reinbeck and graduated from Reinbeck high School. Following graduation she worked in a Reinbeck drugstore.

She was united in marriage to Victor Johnsen Aug. 31, 1940, in Hudson and she continued to live in Reinbeck until Vic’s discharge from the Navy in 1946 when they moved to Buckingham.

Following the closing of the Chicago Northwestern depot in Buckingham, in 1960, the couple moved to Ringsted lowa. After retirement 1979 they enjoyed traveling and camping.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Michael and one brother Donald.

She is survived by her husband Victor of Ringsted; three daughters Vicki Johnsen of Buckingham Mrs. Dale (Cindy) Fisher of Estherville and Mrs. Dan (Connie) Robbonwolt of Algona; three brothers, Lester Brandt of Lake Zurich. Ill., Allen Brandt and Robert Brandt, both of Reinbeck; two sisters Florence Davis of Longmont, Colo., and Laverna Murphy of Hudson; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
