OBITUARY

LA PORTE CITY - Alice M. Hild, 86, formerly of 605 Locust St., died Wednesday, Nov. 20, [1996] at Sunrise Hill Care Center, Traer, of natural causes.

She was born July 30, 1910, in rural La Porte City, daughter of Roy and Nettie Gardner Yarrow. She married Dale Hild on Oct. 20, 1928, in rural Black Hawk County.

Mrs. Hill was a telephone operator in La Porte City and was past Grand and Noble Grand of the Thistle Rebekah's Lodge No. 261.

Survived by: her husband; two sons, David of Waterloo and Harold of rural La Porte City; two daughters, Shirley Juhl of La Porte City and Carol Usher of Waverly; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Yarrow of La Porte City; and three sisters, Leo Witmer and Nellie Schmitz, both of La Porte City, and Alma Benson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Kathryn Marie Hild; a brother, Roy Yarrow, Jr.; three sisters, Myrna Graves, Blanche Comstock and Pearl Benjamin; and a step-grandson.

Services: 2 pm, Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, La Porte City, with burial in Geneseo Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 pm today and 9 am to noon Saturday at Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
