LA PORTE CITY - J. Gordon Jorgensen, 76, of 220 Valley Drive, Apt 2C, died Thursday, April 10, [1997] at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo after a lengthy illness.

He was borbn Feb. 14, 1921, in Traer, son of Soren and Ann Christensen Jorgensen. He married Lenora Miller Dec. 7, 1944 in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Jorgensen farmed in Buckingham and La Porte City until retireing in 1980 and was employed by La Porte City Co-op.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Jerry G. of Marshalltown; two daughters, Janet Schaefer of Eagle Center and Carol Kaefring of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Lashbrook of Osage.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Marvin.
Services: 2 pm Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, La Porte City, with burial in Geneseo Cemetery, rural Buckingham. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm today at Huisman Funeral Home.
Memorials: may be directed to la Porte City Future Farmers of America Ag Museum.
