OBITUARY
Maxine N. Hartmann was born August 19, 1926 at Traer, Iowa, the daughter of Fred W. and Agnes (Konicek) Vorba. Maxine attended country school and Traer High School graduating in the class of 1943 from Dinsdale, Iowa.

She continued her education at Pitzies Beauty School and worked as a beautician in Waterloo until her marriage to James B. Kvidera on January 5, 1948. They spent their married life farming in the Traer, Dysart and La Porte City areas.

Shortly afteer James' death on April 25, 1970, Maxine and her three sons moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa. On April 6, 1972 she married Melvin Hartmann and they continued living in Cedar Falls. Melvin's death came on November 22, 1988. Maxine's death came at her home in Cedar Falls on Sunday, Octobeer 15, 2000 at the age of 74 years.

In free moments Maxine enjoyed bowling, dancing and spending time with her many friends and family. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, James and Melvin and one sister Lillian A. Barber. She is survived by three sons Lee Kvidera of Venice, FL, Kent Kvidera and his friend Rene' of Palm Harbor, FL and Maurice Kvidera of Clearwater, FL; two brothers and their wives, Leonard and Lois Vorba and Harold and Verena Vorba all of Traer, several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, plus many nieces, nephews and a host of bowling and dancing friends.
