OBITUARY

Roy H. Boerm was born February 27, 1912 in Howard Township near Toledo, Iowa, the son of Johannes and Alvena (Frahm) Boerm. Roy received his education in country school and then began farming with his father.

On June 26, 1940 he was united in marriage to Lucile Bonewitz at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Roy and Lucile then made their home farming all their married life on a farm in Crystal Township. In recent months Roy's health has failed and was a patient at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines where his death came on Sunday, January 23, 2000 at the age of 87 years.

In free moments, Roy enjoyed fixing things around the farm and also enjoyed repairing things for family anf friends. Roy never missed an opportunity to play cards and visit with family and friends of all ages.

He was a member of the Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer and a lifetime member of the Tama County Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; Lester and Dennis, four brothers; Harold, Raymond, John and Edwin and two sisters; Elsie Skala and Hilda Puls Skala. He is survived by his wife Lucile, two sons; Leonard and his wife Betty of Garwin and Roger of Toledo and seven grandchildren.

Immediately following the services, family and friends are invited to the church fellowship hall for a time of food and fellowship.
