VOKOUN, Mildred Lorraine (1916 - 1996)

Obiturary

Mildred Lorraine VOKOUN was born September 20, 1916 in rural Tama County near Traer, Iowa; the daughter of Joseph and Anna (PECENKA) VOKOUN. She attended school and graduated form Traer High School and then taught country school south of Traer for two years. Mildred then moved to Waterloo and worked for Hinson Manufacturing and then Black’s department Store. She eventually became the buyer for the children’s clothing department for all of the Waterloo store. After Black’s closed she worked for Walker’s Shoes. In April of 1995 Mildred became a resident of Sunrise hill Care center in Traer where her death came on Thursday, July 25, 1996 at the age of 79 years. She was a member of the Toastmasters and the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Edward and a sister Annie. Mildred is survived by her brother; Donald VOKOUN and her sister; Pauline MANFULL both of Traer.
