Ruth DENGLER

Funeral services for Ruth L DENGLER, 99 of Traer, were held Tuesday morning, March 10, 1998, at Overton Funeral Home in Traer with burial in Dysart Cemetery, Dysart, Ia. She died Friday, March 6, 1998, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

Pastor Dick Lehman officiated the service. Casket bearers were Max Nelsen Jr., Jason Thomas, Jeff Nelsen and Greg Nelsen, Mr. and Mrs. Art West were in charge of flowers.

Ruth L DENGLER was born May 26, 1898 near Voorhies, Iowa, in Lincoln Township, Black Hawk County, the daughter of Jesse D and Molly (DICKEY) MASTAIN.

Ruth was united in marriage to F W WEHRHAN on June 7, 1916, and they later divorced. On Feb. 14, 1941, she married Louie DENGLER and they made their home in Traer all their married life.

Following Louis’s death, Ruth continued to make her home in Traer and in February of 1995 she became a resident of Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Louie; one son, Robert “Bus”; three grandchildren; two sisters; two stepsons and three stepdaughters.

Ruth is survived by two sons and their wives, Everett and Mary WEHRHAN of San Diego, Calif. and Kenneth and Toni TRENT of La Mesa, Calif.; one daughter, Florence THOMAS of Marion ; a daughter-in-law, Blanche WEHRHAN of Les Mesa, Calif.; one stepson, Percy DENGLER of Cedar Falls; two stepdaughters, Evelyn PETERSEN of Hudson and Frances ANDERSON of Atlantic; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
