DINSDALE, E Wilson “Bud” (1918 - 1992)

OBITUARY

E Wilson “Bud” DINSDALE was born in rural Traer on May 11, 1918, son of Thomas and Jennie (FLEMING) DINSDALE. Bud received his education in the Dinsdale school and then worked with his father on the family farm. On February 12, 1941, Bud married Frances WOLFGRAM at Exira, Iowa, and they made their home farming near Traer and moved to their present farm in 1944. Bud farmed with his brother, Calvin, until the mid 1950’s when they divided their farming operation and fared as neighbors for many years. Bud retired from farming in 1983, but continued to be active in the Ripley United Church of Christ and the First Community Bank Board of Directors. Over the years, Bud had also been on the Buckingham school board, the Buckingham Elevator board and the board of Farmers Lumber Company of Traer. In recent weeks, bud was in failing health and was at home when his death came on Sunday, June 7, 1992, at the age of 74 years. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Calvin, Floyd, Oscar and Lorin; and four sisters, Matilda, Frances, Ella and Arlene. Bud is survived by his wife, Frances of Traer; two sons, David and his wife Linda of West Des Moines, and Gary of Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Dotta Jean) HASSMAN of Traer; two brothers, Leroy and Marvin both of Traer; two sisters, Mildred WITT of Reinbeck and Lydia DINSDALE of Traer; and seven grandchildren.
