Albina DRINOVSKY (1920 - 1996)

Funeral services for Albina P. DRINOVSKY, 94, of rural Hudson were held Friday morning, March 22, 1996, at the Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer, with burial in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

Albina died at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo Monday, March 18, 1996, following an extended illness.

Officiating at the service was the Rev. Mark Binder. Judy Mason served as organist and vocalist was Wendy DRINOVSKY.

Casket bearers were Douglas DRINOVSKY, Gregory DRINOVSKY, Jeff DRINOVSKY, Jeff Houston, Jerry Lucas and Walter Mochal. Floral tributes were handled by Mr. and Mrs. John DRINOVSKY, Andrea DRINOVSKY and Sue DRINOVSKY.

Albina Pauline DRINOVSKY was born Feb. 9, 1920, near Traer, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (CHILA) PECENKA. She received her education and graduated from Traer High School. Albina then received her normal training at Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught rural school in Tama County and public schools in Clermont and West Union, Ia.

Albina was united in marriage to William DRINOVSKY on Feb. 11, 1928, in Cedar Rapids. The couple made their home near Traer where they farmed. In the spring of 1940 Albina and William moved south of Hudson to farm until 1961 when they built their new home on Highway 63. She continued to make her home there following William’s death Nov. 16, 1986.

Albina was a member of the Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer. She enjoyed fishing and going south in winter months.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William, six brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are one son and his wife, Roger and Peggy DRINOVSKY of Hudson; one daughter and her husband, Mary Lois and Gaylord HENRIKSEN of Buckingham; one sister, Madalin LUCAS of Keokuk; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
