Louis DRINOVSKY (1899 - 1990

Louis DRINOVSKY was born February 2, 1899, south of Clutier, Iowa, one of eight children born to Frank W. and Teresa (HANZELKA) DRINOVSKY.

Louis received his education in a country school and then farmed for several years with his brother Adolph. He then moved to Traer, where over the years he worked in the produce business, operated a bulk fuel truck for Sinclair Oil Co., ran a feed mill and trucking business with his brother Wessley and later worked for the Traer Municipal Utilities. On June 20, 1935, Louis married Antonia HLAVACKA at the Little Brown Church at Nashua and they made their home in Traer. Louis was an employee of the Iowa Highway Commission from 1944 until 1964. After his retirement he enjoyed many hours making miniature barns and windmills for area people with his friend Ralph Haack. In recent years, Louis’s health failed and he was a resident at Sunrise Hill Care Center when his death came on Thursday, March 22, 1990, at the age of 91 years. Louis was a member of the Ripley United Church of Christ and the Order of Odd Fellows Lodge for 66 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Antonia and several nephews and nieces.
