Son of Herbert A. and Hattie Saunders.

Enlisted Dec 8, 1917 at Waterloo, IA; entered Jefferson Barracks; transferred to Camp Grant, Camp Upton; first entered 161st Depot Brigade, 18th Co.

In France Aug 1, 1918; member of 11th Co., 4th Reg., Air Service Mechanic, A.E.F.

Corporal.
